Atlanta PD Use of Force proposal
Evolving the visual system of a suite of solutions to present recommendations developed by the Atlanta PD Use of Force Advisory Council.
Art Direction / Concept Development / Visual Design / Interface Design
This suite of multimedia design pieces is the result of an integrated collaboration between our consultant case team and design team, working pro-bono with the Advisory Council to present a set of strategic recommendations to Atlanta’s Mayor. The design challenges involved reimagining the visual approach and creating a design system that could adapt to diverse content. All while showcasing the pieces as workable and flexible plans and recommendations that could evolve.
Why am I sharing this case?
This case shows my ability to lead parallel efforts with multiple designers while ensuring visual consistency throughout all pieces. It also demonstrates my capability to elevate an existing concept to give it purpose for a new effort.

Thinking & Assessing
Design evolution that follows a concrete function. From initial plans to concrete recommendations.
Our collaboration with the consulting team started after their first sprint, where they had presented initial plans to the Mayor. The purpose of the second sprint was to solidify those initial efforts into actionable recommendations and steps. The visual approach had to exemplify this content evolution, staying relatively consistent with the initial approach while transforming into a design strategy that would embody the targeted and concrete nature of the recommendations showcased.
Focusing & Pivoting
Keeping it together, leading multiple designers to create multiple pieces, simultaneously.
Our team worked arduously on a flexible model for five days to create a suite of three design pieces. A comprehensive report outlining all recommendations in detail developed during a 45-day engagement. A dashboard that transparently shows data on dispatched calls addressed by Atlanta police, with a breakdown of reported use of force incidents all filtered through different lenses. Lastly, an executive summary (primer) to share during community meetings. My role was to oversee and art direct all simultaneous design efforts, ensuring visual consistency and quality so that all pieces would align to the refreshed design system created.
